The best way to find more and better treasure, is to do some investigation before you start hunting. There are many ways to get this valuable information. Talking to older people is the first step you can make. They can guide you to spots where in the past houses had been. Maybe they remember stories from their childhood, about "uncle Bob", died 60 years ago, very rich, no heritage found. Suspecting the old folks buried it in the backyard...... Such stories are very common in every town, and, as you can see in the pic, very much worth searching for.

Also the places at lakesides the people used to swim in the past, are good places to take your detector to, nowadays, people go to the swimming pool to take a fresh dive. The old swimming lakes are most abandoned, if someone remembers where they are located, don't miss those spots, you'll be surprised how good they are.

Books and maps you borrow from the local library are a good help, the maps can give you a clue about lost roads in your area, older maps can show you lost cities or communities. Maps used by sailors or river guides often point you at ship wrecks. If the river through time has gone off track, the wreckage may be on dry grounds today. Finding something like an old vessel is the best thing a treasure hunter possibly can encounter.

Before hunting, make sure your batteries are loaded, the detector is properly constructed, tell your family where you have planned to hunt, because when you walk into trouble, they must be able to track you down. Leave at least a message about your whereabouts.
